Projected by a recent study as the India's city of the decade 2011-2021, Faridabad is an ancient, industrial city located in the northern Indian state of Haryana. It's a quintessential Indian city, with industrial activities dominating one corner and agricultural another. It enjoys a prime location too, as the highly important Mathura road passes through Faridabad, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi, the state of Uttar Pradesh, and the Gurgaon district border it.

  • The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will be extending the metro rail service to the city under Phase-III of its expansion drive. Currently, the metro service terminates at the Delhi-Faridabad border, at Badarpur

Faridabad Civic Administration

  • Faridabad city is one of the five sub-divisions of the Faridabad district. Just like in every other sub-division, Faridabad is headed by a sub-divisional magistrate
  • The urban civic amenities and infrastructure, like roads, drainage, and water supply are made available to the residents of Faridabad by the Municipal Corporation, Faridabad (MCF), which came into existence back in 1992
  • Elections to the MCF are held once every five years. The Municipal Commissioner is the administrative head of the MCF
